【2025 April 22 - International Mother Earth Day - UNESCO Hong Kong Association Council Expresses Active Support】

April 22nd is the International Mother Earth Day, a United Nations-designated observance that raises global awareness of environmental protection and emphasises the urgent need for harmony between humanity and nature. Under the 2025 Earth Day theme “Our Power, Our Planet”, the Council of UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA) actively supported this global initiative, committing to share Hong Kong’s actions and co-create a sustainable future with the international community.

UHKA and the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development (HiESD) have been actively responding to global calls by implementing local sustainability initiatives. This Mother Earth Day, we’re connecting global vision with local action through:
Supporting the UN Global Compact’s “Earth Day Charity Lecture Series: Climate Change & Business Sustainability”, which consist of 8 sessions of cross-disciplinary sustainability solution sharing.
Launching the “2025 Biodiversity Space Exposed Seeds Nursery Project” on 12 April.
Upcoming: “2025 World Environment Day Hong Kong Action & Net Zero Schools Awards Ceremony” on 5 June (Register now: https://forms.gle/UxjZGqem7mKaBYmj6)
Providing professional training courses on sustainability planning, ESG, and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD): https://hiesd.org/wp/training/
These initiatives represent both our pledge to the planet and our celebration of the 80th anniversary milestone of the United Nations and UNESCO.
Stay engaged and support our mission to advocate for Earth and drive meaningful change through concrete actions!
