The 29th Caretakers of the Environment International Conference (2015)

What is CEI?

Caretakers of the Environment International (CEI) started in 1986. It is an international organization which aims to promote sustainable development education for youth. It features an annual international conference for school age students, usually senior secondary students.

CEI (Hong Kong) is a fully recognized regional branch of CEI. It is affiliated to UNESCO Hong Kong Association as one of UNESCO HK’s core programmes and activities.

Aims of the Organisation

To promote enviromental awareness and stimulate environmental education in schools;
to develop local, regional, national and international environmental education networks of teachers and pupils who share environmental concerns and who face environmental challenges;
to faciliate joint educational projects that encourage international exchange and interdisciplinary activities; and
to share successful and innovative environmental educational education programs

The Organisation endeavours to reach its aims and objectives by:

publishing papers and articles of interst to schools and related bodies;
organising local, regional, national and /or international events;
supporting international , national, regional and local projects; and
supporting the regional/national branch of CEI hosting the annual CEI conference by selecting HK participants to be recommended for acceptance by the local organising committee of the said branch
