The Hong Kong Association for UNESCO (UHKA) is honoured to have received a formal response letter from Mr. Victor TAI Sheung-shing, Under Secretary for Housing of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, regarding the youth-led resolution “Youth Prospect on Smart and Sustainable Cities.” This resolution was a key outcome of the “BOC HK | UNESCO HK 2025 Secondary School Model UNESCO International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Cities,” held on 19 July 2025.
From November 20 to 23, the UNESCO Hong Kong youth delegation comprising of Green Citizens Youth Ambassadors, students, and teachers from its member school – The Chinese Foundation Secondary School, participated in the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) 2025 in the Philippines.
On November 8th, 2025, the 14th ESD Learning Programme (2025/26) Opening Ceremony was Successfully Held, Students from nearly 20 Hong Kong primary and secondary schools gathered to officially commence a five-month exploration journey centred around the theme of sustainable development.
The UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA) participated in the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2025 as the Hong Kong Regional Reporter, highlighting the sustainable development achievements of local enterprises and elevating their global impact. Professor Karen Cheung, President of UHKA and Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development (HiESD), attended the Summit alongside the Association's Youth Affairs Coordinator, Ms. Americana Chen.
The UNESCO Hong Kong Association is delighted to host the IV International UNESCO Model on the theme “The Ethics of Neurotechnology”, under the chairmanship of the World Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO, and in collaboration with the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO.

The 2025 Secondary School Model UNESCO (MUNESCO) International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Cities—Hong Kong Greater Bay Area Conference successfully concluded on July 6, 2025. 112 students excelled from nearly 800 students participating in the preliminary selection and represented 56 countries to negotiate and propose solutions for smart and sustainable urban development.
