UNESCO Hong Kong Association at the First UNESCO Global Youth Forum <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On February 19-20, 2025, the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations held the first Global Youth Forum in Almaty, Kazakhstan, bringing together leaders and youth representatives from UNESCO Clubs, Centres, and Associations from all over the world to discuss key areas of action for youth to promote sustainable development, and released the “Youth Roadmap for Associations and Clubs for UNESCO 2025-2030” at the conference.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Chen Sze Wa, Americana, Youth Affairs Coordinator of the UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA), was invited to attend the forum and delivered a speech at the seminar on “Ethics in the Digital Age and Sustainable Youth-Led Actions.\u201d. She shared with the attendees how the UNESCO Hong Kong Association has leveraged innovative technologies to promote sustainable development through projects such as the Model UNESCO International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education, the Future of Education Innovation Lab, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Education Forum, and the Green Citizen Youth Ambassadors Project. It has focused on three major areas: youth and students, strengthening the capabilities of educators, and policy advocacy.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The “Youth Roadmap for Associations and Clubs for UNESCO 2025-2030″ is an international direction discussed, agreed upon, and released by leaders and youth representatives from global delegates at the conference. It includes six major objectives: \u201cEducation and Lifelong Learning,\u201d \u201cClimate Change and Environmental Sustainability,\u201d \u201cDigital Technology and Global Innovation, Including Ethical Standards,\u201d \u201cInclusive Societies, Freedom of Expression, Cultural Diversity, Protection of Heritage, and Peace-building,\u201d \u201cCrisis Preparedness and Response,\u201d and \u201cAfrica We Want”. The climate change education projects, education for international understanding projects, world heritage and intangible cultural heritage student, teacher, and practitioner training, and sustainable development planning professional training carried out by the UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Sustainable Development Education (HiESD) have actively contributed to these goals, fully reflecting the synergy between the regional and international blueprints.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Hong Kong representative also presented the “United Nations Global Compact\u2014Hong Kong Regional Report 2022-23” and “World Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage Hong Kong School Curriculum Casebook\u201d published by the UHKA and HiESD to Chairman Mr. Bolat Akchulakov, Secretary-General Mr. Du Yue of the UNESCO World Federation, and Director Yuan Aijun of the World Heritage Youth Education Centre, showcasing Hong Kong’s progress in the field of sustainable development.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
