2017/18 Education for Sustainable Development Learning Program

2017/ 2018 Education for Sustainable Development Learning Program is now open for application

UNESCO Hong Kong Association committed to promote Sustainable Development in Educational, Scientific and Cultural aspects and to follow UNESCO’s missions. In response to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the Association will launch the 9th Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Learning Program in this academic year, to arouse students' awareness of sustainable living practices and to enhance students' learning ability.

In the past 8 years, more than 2000 primary and secondary school students participated in the program. This year, there will be six learning themes, including Built Environment & Placemaking, Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Environment, Sustainable Tourism, Mental & Behavioral Health and Life Education (for primary school students only), each theme is coordinated by expertise in related fields, so to get close to the industries’ latest development.

Students will participate in development workshops, talks, study visits related to their selected areas. At the end of the program, participants are required to conduct a report and present to judges to demonstrate their understanding on and application to the learning topics. Representatives will be chosen from winning teams and provide subsidy to attend UN global forum.
